Road CC got their hands on the Recon HL900, new for 2019, and put it through its paces. After a thorough test, they awarded it an impressive 4 stars out of 5 and called it “a very good light”.
The Recon range is available in four outputs (lumens) – 500, 700, 900 and 1600. The latter two models offer an innovative feature called 'SpeedBeam', which adjusts the light beam output based on riding speed. The HL900 model on test offers 900 lumens of output, a run time of 50 hours and a charge time of just 3 ½ hours, so despite the small size, there’s plenty of performance on offer.
Overall, Road CC were impressed with the Recon HL900, praising the battery life and SpeedBeam technology. The review was summed up by tester Ashley Quinlan as “The Recon produces a nice, even, round beam that fills the periphery very well given the single-LED squared nature of the light.”
